Woodpeckers,
Harry, Scooter and I had an offsite management meeting last Friday with a few beers out on the deck in the February sunshine😊.
Chinese New year says it’s the year of the Tiger, but all 3 of us agreed it’s also the year of the Woodpecker!
Did you know:
Woodpeckers can hammer away faster than we can count? … and Never get a headache. Woodpeckers are perfectionists and they like to make music (sweet music😊). So by now, most of you can understand how Harry and Scooter came up with this catchy mascot nickname (makes complete sense😊).
Anyways, even though it’s February, Figurehead Brewery left a bad taste in our mouths. And of course, you know we always like to put Summer’s Eve in its place😊
So, Management is totally focused on reattaining that #1 spot and reclaiming the Trophy this year.
Scooter is working on the numbers and I’m in the process of buying a new bat (yes, it will be juiced but legal😊, although I still often wonder if some of our opponents have legitimate bats when they hit the ball 325 feet😊). We once again will consider having full time and part time players. Part time still means over 50% of the time. As you know, sometimes it can be hard to field 10 guys and on a few occasions 14 guys show up. So, we’re trying to balance out and give everyone lots of playing time and still take home the trophy. Here’s what we’re thinking this year:
Full time $125
Part time $90
Please let us know if you plan on joining us this year, and if you’d like to play Full time or Part time. Games generally are Thursday nights, but we should know more probably in March.
Thanks guys. Hope you’re all doing well and looking forward to a fun summer and some softball. Just an FYI, Taylor and I took batting practice last Thursday up in Meadowdale with my senior softball team. Someone made the mistake of giving Taylor their senior bat, and he knocked about a half dozen balls out of the park dead centerfield! I think he’s got the bug……
